Stewardship
“Gratitude changes everything....
but most of all, it changes us.”
At St. Luke's we believe that when we take the time to thank God for our blessings, something amazing happens.
It not only awakens us to the presence of God in our lives, but we become more aware of how truly fortunate we are, and are more focused on the gifts (and challenges) for what they have provided and taught us.
The gifts that you possess are gifts from the Giver of all things good. Do you have a spiritual gift? Share it.
Do you have a testimony about the things that Christ has done for you? Don't leave your story untold.
Do you possess financial resources? Share them.
Do you have special talents? Hone your skills and use them – for the work the Holy Spirit is calling you to do.
Our God is a GiftGiver. In addition to the magnificence and diversity of the Creation and the gift of His Son, God has given each of us a special way of serving others – uniquely gifted to make a contribution to the work for which we all have been called. And because God has also given us the gift of free will/choice, how you choose to use your talents and financial gifts is entirely up to you.
If you are thinking you have little or nothing to offer, know this: no talent is considered insignificant nor financial gift too small to have an impact on the work we undertake at St. Luke's and the difference we can make in our community and the world.
Before considering a gift to St. Luke's, we encourage you to pray this simple Prayer of Gratitude:
ACCEPT, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all you have done for us.
We thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love.
We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and the the loving care which surrounds us on every side.
We thank you for setting us at tasks which demand our best efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments which satisfy and delight us.
We thank you also for those disappointments and failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone.
Above all, we thank you for your son Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of his Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying, through which he overcame death; and for his rising to life agin, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom.
Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know Christ and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things.
